On Friday 21st November we had an activity day to commemorate 100 years since the start of World War 1.
We started they day with a whole school assembly which explained how the war started and how it quickly escalated into something much bigger.
In Nursery and Reception they printed poppies, made blob and fold poppies, completed a treasure trail and sang wartime songs.
In Years 1 & 2 children made 3-D posters, clay poppies, painted poppy art, went on a scavenger hunt, wrote and tapped their names in morse code, and sang wartime songs.
They day finished when pupils gathered together to share their experiences (see our slide show below) and have a sing-a-long.
